Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Prompts House collects when you use the site, and why. It applies to everyone: signed-in members and anonymous visitors alike.

What we collect

  • Account information. If you register, we store your username, email address, password (hashed, never in plain text), and anything you add to your public profile (display name, bio, avatar, links).
  • Content you publish. Prompts, versions, comments on suggestions, feedback votes, reports, and collections you create.
  • Anonymous activity signals. To let anyone leave Helpful/Not Helpful feedback without creating an account, we set a random, signed identifier cookie. It cannot be reversed to identify you, and it is never linked to a raw IP address in storage. A short-lived, salted hash of your IP may be used purely as an anti-abuse rate-limit key and is not retained as a persistent record tied to your activity.
  • Basic technical data. Standard session and CSRF-protection cookies required for the site to work, and aggregate, non-identifying usage counters (like a prompt's view/copy counts).

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't run third-party advertising trackers.
  • We don't store raw IP addresses as part of your permanent activity history.

How we use it

To operate the core product: authenticating you, attributing the prompts and contributions you publish, computing trust signals (like helpful percentages, once enough responses exist to make them meaningful), and keeping the anonymous-feedback system resistant to spam and vote manipulation.

What is public

Prompts you publish, your username, display name, and any public prompt/creator statistics are visible to anyone, including logged-out visitors and search engines (unless you mark a prompt Private or Unlisted). Your email address is never shown publicly.

Your choices

You can edit or remove your profile details, change your prompts' visibility, and delete content you own at any time from your dashboard. If you believe content about you should be removed and you can't do it yourself, use the report option described on our Report content page.

We may update this page as the product evolves. Meaningful changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top.
